FERRIDAY — Services for Billy Ray Vinson, 63, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Allen Stephens and the Rev. Wayne Grey officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Vinson was born Feb. 5, 1945, in Alexandria, La., the son of A.E. Vinson and Neley Phillips Vinson. He was the manager of Champlin Furniture and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ferriday.
Mr. Vinson also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Champlin; two sons, Todd Vinson and wife, Kristi, both of Monroe, La., and Mark Vinson and wife, Kimberly, both of Pineville, La.; one brother, Eugene Vinson of Mangum, La.; one sister, Jeanette Cockerham of Pineville; his mother of Mangum; two grandsons, Carter and Conner Vinson and one grandson due in May.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Tarver, Barry Chapman, Chris Vinson, Bill Beasley, Warren Enterkin and Bill Colvin.
