FERRIDAY — Services for Deloris “Lo” Weatherspoon Pipes, 60, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Willis-Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, La., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pipes was born March 13, 1948, in Ferriday, the daughter of Clarence Weatherspoon and Ruby Savage Melancon. She was a retired nurse’s assistant.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Adean Pipes; two daughters, Sheterika Melancon of Ferriday and Trisha Wallace and husband, Glen, both of Shreveport; one son, Terrance M. Pipes and wife, Tammy, both of Shreveport; one stepdaughter, Cylinthia Dixon of Vidalia; three brothers, Clarence Weatherspoon Jr. and wife, Carolyn, Vernon Weatherspoon and wife, Dorothy, all of San Bernardino, Calif. and Donnie Weatherspoon and wife, Joan, both of Palmdale, Calif.; two grandchildren, Jordan Wallace of Shreveport and Ja’Kyren Pipes of Ferriday; two step-grandchildren, Scotty Dixon Jr. and Talamthia Dixon, both of Vidalia; four aunts, Lillie Mae Deleho and husband, Cleveland, and Jean Carter, all of Ferriday, Willie B. Weatherspoon and Erma Weatherspoon, both of Las Vegas; three uncles, Robert McCraney of Ferriday, Mose Weatherspoon and James Wallace, both of Chicago; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
