FERRIDAY — A Ferriday woman was arrested after she allegedly assaulted two other women with a vehicle Wednesday.

Jamesha Hardin, 25, 279 Concordia Drive, was arrested on charges of two counts aggravated second-degree battery after she allegedly ran over Jessica Promise and Latasha Jefferson with a car at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Fifth Street at approximately 1:30 p.m., Ferriday Assistant Police Chief Johnny Evans said.

When emergency responders arrived at the scene, the two victims were lying in the street, Evans said.

Promise and Jefferson were transported to a local hospital where they received treatment, but Evans said he did not know the extent of their injuries Wednesday afternoon.

The three had reportedly been involved in an ongoing dispute about men they were involved with.

“It has been going on and on,” Evans said. “We have answered numerous calls in these matters with the people involved.”

Hardin was detained without bond Thursday.
