CHICAGO — Services for Bill Buckner, 57, of Chicago, formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at the University Medical Center in Chicago, will be Monday in Chicago.
Arrangements are under the direction of House of Branch Funeral Home in Chicago.
Mr. Buckner was born Sept. 27, 1951, the son of Robert Buckner and Margurite Rogers. He attended Natchez public schools prior to his relocation to Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Leander Sanders and Ollie M. Sanders; and two aunts, Ollie Buckner and Charlotte Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Lynette Marie Buckner; two daughters, LaTia Buckner and LaTara Shaday Buckner, both of Milwaukee, Wis.; five sons, Jarvey Buckner of Milwaukee, Frederick Hill of Los Angeles, Anthony Jones, Danilo Jones and Eric Jones, all of Chicago; three grandchildren, De’Ja Jones, Anthony Jones Jr., and Aaron Jones, all of Chicago; three sisters, Joyce Coulston and Diane Williams, both of Natchez, and Linda Perkins of Chicago; two brothers, William Rogers Jr., of Natchez, and Arthur Buckner of Chicago; four aunts, the Rev. Lula Warfield and Georgia M. Thornburg, both of Natchez, Hattie R. White and Inez Gary, both of Oakland, Calif.; two uncles, Leander Sanders Jr. and Willie Buckner, both of Chicago; four nieces; five nephews; two special cousins, Azda White of Richmond, Calif., and Arthur White of Pine Ridge, Calif.; and a number of relatives and friends.
