NATCHEZ — Is the elusive ivory-billed woodpecker still extinct?
Could you tell the difference between an ivory-billed and a pileated woodpecker?
If they do still exist, where would they live? The answers to these and other questions will be provided by during a Lunchtime Lecture program at Historic Jefferson College, titled “In Search of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker,” on Tuesday.
Mark Bonta, associate professor of geography at Delta State University, will discuss his research in searching for this possibly extinct bird in Mississippi and Louisiana.
The Lunchtime Lecture program begins at noon, and participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. There is no charge for this presentation, and everyone is welcome to attend.
