JACKSON (AP) — State transportation officials say ice and snow accumulations were reported early Wednesday in several north Mississippi counties, making travel difficult in these areas.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said that as of about 7 a.m. it had received reports of ice on roads and bridges in Coahoma, Marshall, Tunica, Tate, Benton, Panola and DeSoto counties. Accumulations of snow were also reported early in DeSoto County.
As a front continues to push through the state, rainfall is predicted through much of the central and northern regions of Mississippi. Officials said conditions were expected to improve during the day Wednesday.
