FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man already behind bars faces new gun-related charges after police served another warrant against him.
Ardonus Kavadrick Jefferson, 18, 1008 Delaware Ave., was booked on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm Thursday.
Jefferson was initially picked up Tuesday during “Operation Wake-Up Call,” a parish-wide interagency roundup of 28 people with outstanding felony and narcotics warrants.
At that time, he was charged by the Ferriday Police Department with unauthorized entry of a dwelling and aggravated assault.
The incident from which those charges stemmed happened in November, Ferriday Assistant Police Chief Johnny Evans said.
At that time, Jefferson allegedly entered a house on Carolina Avenue without being invited and pointed a gun at the residents, Evans said.
Jefferson was reportedly looking for the residents’ son, who was not there, Evans said.
The new charges came from a second November incident, in which Jefferson allegedly pulled a gun on a man following an argument in the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Georgia Avenue, Evans said.
When the man ran, Jefferson reportedly fired a shot after him, Evans said.
Jefferson was detained without bond on both sets of charges Thursday.
