FERRIDAY — Horse and man finally met back home, but not after a lonesome trot down Louisiana 425.

Ferriday Police assisted in the reunion Saturday afternoon.

Ferriday Police Officer Buddy Rouse said the man had jumped off the horse and was holding it by its reins when something startled it.

The horse took off, Rouse said, and left his owner behind.

“All I know is the horse was running down the highway,” Rouse said.

The owner told Rouse that the horse was probably heading back home, so Rouse drove the man to his residence and back to his horse.
