FERRIDAY — Services for Ruth Meredith, 79, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rising Sun Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Mays officiating.
Burial will follow at Clayton Garden of Rest, in Clayton, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Meredith was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Natchez, the daughter of Willie and Mary Thomas Meredith. She was a retired housekeeper.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Meredith of Phoenix, Ariz.; four daughters, Mary Ann White of New York, N.Y., Carolyn Spurs, Jennifer Meredith and Sandra Cauley; one brother, Willie Meredith of Ferriday; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
