FERRIDAY — It’s only their first game, but already the Wilkinson County Christian baseball team is showing improvements.

He pitched four innings, striking out seven and walking two.

There were no multiple hitters for either team.

“It took us a little while to get to hitting the ball,” said WCCA coach Roy Olive. “But we strung four hits together in the fourth inning.”

Hayden Wetstone closed the game, pitching one inning.

WCCA had five hits and two errors, while Tallulah had one hit and four errors.

Cody Landrem had a double for Tallulah.

“In preseason games, you worry about team chemistry and everything, and we have a long way to go for that,” Roy Olive said. “We only have three returning starters from last year.

“But I was pleased with the way they played. I watched them grow during the game.”
