FERRIDAY — Services for William Washington Cutrer Jr., 86, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Camelot Leisure Living in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Ferriday with the Rev. Wayne Gray officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Cutrer was born June 4, 1922, in Baton Rouge, the son of William Washington Cutrer Sr. and Eva Wall Cutrer. He was a resident of Ferriday for 50 years.
Mr. Bill or Junior, as he was known while working for Illinois Railroad, was a freight conductor and retired after 42 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ferriday, where he served as a deacon. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Cutrer; one son, Marvin Guy Cutrer; his parents; and one sister, Alice Digriolama.
Survivors include one son, William Washington Cutrer III of Pineville, La.; one daughter, Leona C. Johnson of Cumming, Ga.; three grandchildren, William Washington Cutrer IV, Ashlee Patricia Cutrer and Michael Gabriel Johnson; and three brothers, Ed G. Cutrer of St. Joseph, La., Howard Cutrer of Eaten, Ohio and Bobby Cutrer of Minden, La.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
