NATCHEZ — Services for Henry Harris, 72, of Jackson, formerly of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Baptist Church.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Survivors include a devoted loving wife, Bettye Anderson Harris; six daughters, Pawnda Young, Eileen Harris, Valerie Batts and Marilyn Batts, all of Chicago, Bridget Simmons and husband, James, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Harriett Gamble of Birmingham, Ala.; one son, Henry Harris and wife, Lori, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; five stepchildren, Michael Chatman of Newark, N.J., Charles Chatman and Kimberly Clarke, both of Jackson, Sherman Clarke of New Orleans and Edward Vann Clarke Jr. and wife, Tamara, both of Lorton, Va.; four sisters, Rosa Lee Sims of Natchez, Phyllis Felder and husband, Huett, both of Buffalo, N.Y., Earline Fowler and husband, William, and Magnolia Lewis, all of Gary, Ind.; six brothers, Willie Harris Jr. of Peoria, Ill., Patrick Harris of Minnesota, Johnny Harris and wife, Thelma, Ricky Harris, James Harris and Freddie Harris and wife, Becky, all of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, Jordan and Joshua Harris, both of Phoenix, Ariz., David Batts and Jazmyne Simmons, both of Jacksonville, Mary McCoy and husband, Lincoln, both of Kenner, La., and Tierra Batts, Jazmine Mask, Brianna Mask, Sierra Harris, Nicholas Harris and Antonio Harris and wife, Sharon, all of Chicago; two stepgrandchildren, Kelia Vanessa Clarke and Joshua Edward Clarke Smith, both of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, London McCoy and Lincoln McCoy, both of Kenner; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Harris of Gary, Patricia Harris of Greenville and Ollie Jones and husband, Leander, both of Jackson; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
