Residents of the Miss-Lou once again have the opportunity to attend and enjoy a musical extravaganza sponsored by the Concordia Parish Library.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, the Concordia Parish Library will present “Broadway, the Latest and the Greatest” at the Concordia Bank in Vidalia. This 75-minute concert will feature songs from currently playing Broadway musicals such as “Wicked,” as well as time-honored Broadway favorites including “Les Miserables,” “Gypsy” and “Phantom of the Opera.”

Performers for the concert include Corey Trahan, Lisa McCalmon, Naomi Cordell and pianist, Richard Seiler. All four classically trained musicians have national credits in opera and musical theater production.

For the past three seasons, Mr. Trahan and Ms. McCalmon have toured the region in programs entitled “Celebrating Sinatra,” “Hooray for Hollywood,” and “With Love…Corey and Lisa.” Local favorite of the Miss-Lou and Northeast Louisiana, Naomi Cordell, and Fazioli artist, Richard Seiler, join Mr. Trahan and Ms. McCalmon in this repertoire from the great American musical theater productions.

Dr. Seiler is an associate professor and keyboard chair in the division of music in the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He has performed as a featured soloist, accompanist and chamber musician throughout the United States as well as in Europe, Japan and China.

This program is open and free to the public. Concordia Bank and Trust is a co-sponsor of the program with funding provided by Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture and Recreation. Concordia Parish Library concerts are also supported by a grant administered by the Arts Council of Central Louisiana and by the Arts Council of Northeast Louisiana.

This concert promises an evening of spectacular musical entertainment that you will not want to miss.

Thank you, Mrs. Taylor and Concordia Parish Library, for providing the citizens of Concordia Parish and the surrounding Miss-Lou with these wonderful musical programs throughout the year.

I look forward to the evening and hope to see you there.
