Cutting EDA funding key to change

Thank you God Almighty for that stone, as Mr. James West called it, that the Adams County Board of Supervisors threw in January when they voted to cut funding to the Economic Development Authority.

The stone reminds me of what my mother told me: When you cut the money off trying to get a point across or to see someone that won’t appear, it works every time.

I have seen it work quite a few times in my life and bye George we saw it again!

The Feb. 2 Adams County supervisors meeting was such a positive meeting that I spent half my day watching on TV. It inspired me to write.

I believe that Mr. Henry Watts should be called the leader of the year by the people of Adams County. And I don’t say that because we have been friends for few decades, but I know personally he has always been a Christian, honest, of high integrity, a family man and, if you saw what I did on TV, plain spoken with facts.

That meeting was so well conducted by the Rules of Roberts, so professional and in control that I was telling myself why couldn’t this happen during the starting of the 21st century.

But what was the nucleus, was having all three boards in one room talking and trying to come up with a solution and the fact talking and educating everyone on what had went wrong on the EDA side.

Yes, I’m happy to say Henry, my hat is off to you for finally getting communication opened.

I personally believe that Henry, Mike and Spanky are right at these bad economic times. We can’t afford the EDA.

I want to say that Mr. Woody Allen has put a lot his personal time into it, and I know he means well, but let’s us be realistic. We can’t afford this.

I believe if people that are on the boards would watch the taxpayers money as Mr. Watts has they wouldn’t be in this conversation.

I want to commend Mr. Erle Drane for talking about the founding fathers of Natchez and the Natchez Indians and where we are today.

He mentioned about the four-lane highway that may happen that people will use coming off Interstate 10 going on this El Camino Highway going west. This would help Adams County to have a interstate highway coming through Natchez.

I hope the Coopers at The Natchez Democrat get over their personal vendetta against Mr. Henry Watts and get to thinking positive things for Adams County. I’ll make a deal with you two that I will think as positive as the next man that we will work our way out of this depression, and if its God’s will for Adams County to have these wants, so be it.
