METAIRIE, La. (AP) — A Metairie man apparently shot his wife before turning the gun on himself, but authorities have released few details and offered no motive in the murder-suicide.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato says it appears 48-year-old Dana Fouchi shot his 47-year-old wife, Barbara Fouchi, in the head around 6 p.m. Friday, then killed himself at the couple’s home.

The couple was discovered by their teenage son.

Fortunato says a semiautomatic handgun with two spent casings was found at the scene.
