Whew, what a busy week in the Miss-Lou.

The Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration, the Natchez Business and Civic League, the Krewe of Phoenix and countless smaller events kept us all busy this week. But the annual events brought plenty of good news and lots of smiles to our area.

Let’s review some of the good headlines the week brought.

4 Two local businesses partnered to honor five deserving women for their community service. The Rev. Darian Duckworth, Peggy Burns, Charlene Rushing, Mary Ann Foggo-Eidt and Gabrielle Richardson were honored as Caring Women by Comcast Spotlight and Natchez Community Hospital.

We congratulate these women and thank them for all they do.

4 A group of students at Vidalia High School is learning more than reading and writing at school. Students in the patient care technician program are learning nursing skills that could quickly lead to a career. The students have prepared themselves well for life after high school, and we applaud their work.

4 Aaron Patten and Christina Logan were named the Natchez Business and Civic League’s Man and Woman of the Year, respectively. The NBCL honor is a big one, and we are proud our community has leaders like these two.

4 The NLCC wrapped up Sunday, and we are glad Natchez played host to another successful conference. Thanks to all those who make it possible.

As we begin a new week, we know there will be more good news to follow.
