BOGUE CHITTO — Kacey Smith and Destiney Dedeaux combined on a two-hitter as the Franklin County Lady Dawgs defeated the Bogue Chitto Lady Bobcats 3-1 Friday night.

Smith allowed one run on one hit, struck out 10 and walked just two batters in five innings to pick up the win. Dedeaux earned the save by striking out three while giving up one hit and one walk in two innings of relief.

Despite the outstanding performance on the mound by Smith and Dedeaux, Franklin County (6-1) had a hard time getting its own base-runners to home plate even though it put up 11 hits. The Lady Bulldogs scored one run in the top of the first inning but didn’t score again until the top of the fifth when they scored what turned out to be the game-winning run. They added another run an inning later.
