HAUGHTON, La. — Services for Mr. James Kent Hodges, 55, of Haughton, La., who died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, in Vidalia, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville, with the Rev. Kenny Grant officiating.

Burial will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Visitation will be until service time on Monday at Ann and Ronald Cockerham’s home at 606 Cockerham Loop Road., Jonesville. For directions, please call 318-469-0001 or 318-744-5411.

Mr. Hodges was born Nov. 13, 1953, in Abbeville, La., the son of Willie Quitman Hodges Jr. and Patsy Bass Thompson.

He was a resident of Haughton and a paint inspector.

Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandmother, Dollye Bass Malone and one aunt, Peggy Bass Grant.

Survivors include his mother; two daughters, Kristie and husband David Jernigan of Haughton and Hailee Jean Hodges of Jonesville; his stepfather, Archie Roy Thompson of Haughton; two sisters, Cathy Hodges Dosher and Deborah and husband Vernon Barton both of Haughton; two aunts, Ann and husband Ronald Cockerham of Jonesville and Elaine and husband David Patten of Austin, Texas; one special friend, Steve Hedrick of Ferriday; three nieces; two great nieces and a number of cousins and close friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hedrick, Kenneth Hedrick, David Hedrick, Ricky Bryan, Matthew Whittington and David Carpenter.

The honorary pallbearers will be Terry Morace, Bryan Wiley, Phillip Burley and Gary Love.
