NATCHEZ — Services for Malinda Baldwin Oates, 88, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Promise Specialty Hospital will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Greater King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, 6 Spring St.
Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
There will be a presentation slide show viewing from 11 a.m. until service time at the church on Tuesday.
Mrs. Oates was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Adams County, the daughter of the Rev. William Baldwin and Savannah Branch-Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve Oates; one son, James Clark Jr.; one daughter, Daisy Harris; one brother, the Rev. Shead Baldwin and one sister, Mary Washington.
Survivors include two sons, Bell Carter of Natchez and Archie Carter and his wife Alda of Gladstone, Mo.; one daughter, Diane Carter of Natchez; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three nephews; seven nieces; two sisters-in-law, Irene Baldwin and Evadna Oates Ransom both of Natchez and a number of other relatives and friends.
