RAYVILLE, La. — Services for Thomas Wade Darnell Sr., 78, of Decatur, Ala., who died Monday, March 2, 2009, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Brown-Holley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Buddy Frost and Brother Travis Arrant officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Darnell was born July 2, 1930, in Simsboro, La., the son of Ed and Lucille Darnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Frances Goforth Darnell; one brother, Lavell Darnell; one great-grandson, Elijah Bracey Haywood; and one daughter-in-law, Janet Darnell.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Darnell; two daughters, Sherry Hutto of Rayville and Michele Darnell and fiancé, Paul Barrett, both of Baton Rouge; three sons, Wade Darnell Jr., Kenny Darnell and wife, Sherry, both of Rayville, and Keith Darnell and wife, Darlene, both of Vidalia; one step-daughter, Susan Davis of Decatur, Ala.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Lewis Darnell of Biloxi, W.T. Darnell of Sulphur, La., and Charles Darnell of Rayville; and two sisters, Lujean Darnell of Rayville and Betty Ann Davidson of Ruston, La.
Pallbearers will be David Faulks, Daniel Faulks, Max Darnell, Jerry Word, Perry Pee and Larry Watson.
