Final teen suspect arrested

NATCHEZ — The last of a group of teens wanted in connection with a series of robberies and burglaries has been arrested.

Natchez Police arrested Jumar LaShun Jackson, 16, on Henderson Street after they received a tip, Natchez Police Sgt. Craig Godbold said.

“Someone called in and told us he was over there, and a patrol officer was able to get him and bring him in,” Godbold said.

Jackson is charged with two counts armed robbery, burglary and robbery.

One armed robbery charge is connected to a January incident in which five suspects threatened a Talk of the Town employee at gunpoint. A shot was fired during the incident.

The other armed robbery charge is connected to a late December incident in which four suspects allegedly robbed a pizza deliveryman of $20 and three pizzas on Fifth Street.

Jackson is charged with robbery for an incident in which Jackson allegedly punched a victim in the throat and took approximately $80 from him.

Those previously arrested in connection with the robberies include Jovanti Barnes, 16, Carlton Hoggatt, 18, Jamara Carradine, 17, Cody Carradine, 17 and Gerald Davis, 15.

The other teens were all arrested in January.
