NATCHEZ — A local teenager was recently arrested for allegedly having intercourse with his 15-year-old mentally challenged male cousin.

According the Natchez Police Sgt. Craig Godbold, the victim’s mother walked in on Xavier Marquis Marvel, 18, 29 Williams St., allegedly having intercourse with the victim Sunday.

Marvel was arrested after the mother called the Natchez Police Department.

He was charged with molestation for allegedly touching the victim inappropriately in a previous incident and was also charged with sexual battery for the intercourse.

Godbold said the fact that the victim was mentally challenged played into the severity of the charges.

Marvel is being detained without bond at the city jail.
