JACKSON (AP) — Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Steve Simpson says the black troopers who are alleging discrimination won’t meet with agency officials.
Simpson told lawmakers on Thursday that an independent panel he appointed to investigate the claims has requested meetings with the troopers, who initially voiced their concerns in an anonymous letter.
A legislative committee looking into the matter also is waiting for troopers to come forward and testify.
