Natchez — On Feb. 22, the Rev. John O’Halloran, pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Natchez and St. Ann Church in Fayette, hosted a Leadership Workshop for Pastoral and Financial Council members and for others interested in learning more about the roles of the pastor and congregation members. Valencia M. Hall, a pastoral council member, said she enjoyed he experience.
“This was an outstanding opportunity for open dialogue on our understanding of Church of the past, present and future,” she said.
O’Halloran described the workshop as exceeding his expectations.
“I was encouraged by the enthusiasm of approximately 25 leaders who participated in a five-hour training program,” he said.
The program, designed and led by the Rev. David O’Connor, pastor of St. Mary Basilica and Assumption church, highlighted the shift in emphasis from church as an institution 30 years ago to church as community of faith at the present time.
