NATCHEZ — Hannah Reel has joined the staff of The Natchez Democrat as a photographer.

Reel is a 2006 graduate of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in photojournalism. She minored in media design, production and technology.

Reel comes to The Democrat after working as a freelance photographer in Battle Creek, Mich., for the Battle Creek Enquirer and the Western Michigan Business Review.

She has also worked as a photographer for the Central Michigan campus newspaper, CM Life and the Clare Sentinel in Clare, Mich., and completed photography internships at the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek and with Traverse: Northern Michigan’s Magazine, a local travel publication.
