FAYETTE — Services for Napoleon George Jr., 77, of Fayette, who died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh First Baptist Church, in Fayette, with the Rev. Larry Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow at Poplar Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. George was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Fayette, the son of Napoleon and Bessie Jackson George. He attended Poplar Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Mertha V. George of Fayette; one son, Napoleon Felton of Fayette; four sisters, devoted caregiver, Rose Mary Wise, Mildred E. George and Shelly Alshawri, all of Fayette, and Bessie J. George of Jackson; two brothers, Joseph George and Daniel Lee George and wife, Annette, all of Fayette; a loving and devoted companion of 35 years, Emma Felton of Fayette; two granddaughters, Markeisha Lewis and Triniti Ware, both of Fayette; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lynell Brandon Jr., Albert Curtis Felton, Delvin Felton, Telvin Felton, Frank J. George, Maurice Hudson, Trent Hudson, Calvin Reed and Roderick D. Wise.
