VICKSBURG (AP) — Vicksburg businessman Harry Sharp has been named receiver for Green Acres Memorial Park, which has been placed under court supervision.

As receiver, Sharp takes over day-to-day operations, including sales, for the 15-acre commercial cemetery and management of the cemetery’s funds.

Green Acres came under court supervision in January after Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said the Texas-based owners could not show compliance with a state law requiring pre-payments by customers being held in reserve.
