NATCHEZ — A man accused in February of molesting a 13-year-old Adams County boy is now behind bars.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office officials arrested Roosevelt Palmer, 60, of Woodville, Monday morning on charges of child molestation.

Ricky Stevens, an investigator with the sheriff’s office, said the victim’s mother reported the alleged molestation and an arrest affidavit was signed on March 3.

“The mother said (Palmer) was touching and fondling in places he shouldn’t,” Stevens said.

The alleged abuse happened on a construction worksite where Palmer was working.

“The little boy was working for him,” Stevens said.

Palmer is being retained on $50,000 bond in the Adams County Jail.
