Alphonse Haegeman

NATCHEZ — Services for Alphonse A. Haegeman, 92, of Natchez, formerly of Silvis, Ill., who died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Ferriday, will be Friday in Silvis.
Mr. Haegeman was born Sept. 22, 1916, in East Moline, Ill., the son of Jules and Julienne M. Haegeman. He was a World War II veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and four Campaign Medals. Mr. Haegeman retired after 40 years of employment with John Deere.
Phonse lived in Silvis until he came to live with his daughter and son-in-law in Natchez. He was a very caring and loving man. When one was in need, he was always there. Phonse gave love and also disciplined when needed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine Haegeman; and two brothers, Richard and Camile Haegeman.
Survivors include his daughter, Julienne Kendall and husband, John; one son, David Haegeman and wife, Sandi; four grandchildren, Michael Stiles and wife, Cathy, Tracey Stiles, Lisa Clancy and David Haegeman and wife, Laura; 11 great-grandchildren; twin brother, Phillip Haegeman; two nieces, Theresa Cordingly and Dan McDermott and husband, John.
