VIDALIA — Services for Mae Roberts, 95, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, March 28, 2009, in Winnsboro, La., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Vidalia with Dr. Ralph Webber and the Rev. Dan Glenn officiating.
Burial will follow at New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Roberts was born Jan. 30, 1914, in Lucien, the daughter of Aston Golmon and Lucinda Barfoot Golmon. She was employed as a cook for the Concordia Parish School Board. Mrs. Roberts was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia and served as a Sunday school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Roberts; her parents; and two sons, James Roberts and Joe Roberts.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Roberts and wife, Ann, of Bossier City, La., Ronnie Roberts and wife, Maria, of Chesapeake, Va., and Tommy Gene Roberts and wife, Allison, of Wisner, La.; 14 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Greg Roberts, Michael Roberts, Jason Exelby, Richard Mosley, Joseph Odenwald and Daniel Johnese.
