NATCHEZ — One of America’s Most Wanted was booked into the Adams County Jail Thursday afternoon.

Paul S. Buford Jr., who was featured on the television program in January, was arrested in a joint operation with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Metro Narcotics Unit and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Metro Narcotics Unit Commander Maj. Cliff Cox said Buford is being detained as a fugitive from justice and is not eligible for bond.

Cox said since the investigation is ongoing, few details in the case can be released.

However, America’s Most Wanted’s Website lists Buford as wanted on charges of conspiracy to launder monetary instruments and conspiracy to distribute five kilograms, or more, of cocaine.

“Right now we’re just glad he’s off the street,” Cox said.

Buford will likely be escorted back to Detroit by U.S. Marshals, Cox said.
