Mother Annie Mae Bacon

Natchez — Services for Mother Annie Mae Bacon, of Knoxville, will be at 1 p.m. today at Greater Faith Tabernacle Church, in Natchez.
Mother Bacon was born March 3, 1934, in Knoxville, Miss., the daughter of Jack and Fannie McNeil. She loved everyone. She was always glad to see you, giving you the warmest smile and a big hug.
She was a mother, a sister, an aunt and a friend to everyone that crossed the threshold of her home.
Mother Bacon accepted Christ early in life. She was always telling her family and friends of the goodness of God. Today, her words would be, “Trust Him. He has never lost a battle,” with her hands lifted and her eyes looking toward heaven and giving God all the praise.
She lived her life with Christ at the center.
Mother Bacon was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Bacon; son, Kenny Gaines; and several of her siblings.
Survivors include two children, Charles Gaines and Patricia Gaines; daughter-in-law, Dorothea Gaines; honorary son-in-law, Dexter Lee; honorary daughter-in-law, Lynda Thomas; 13 grandchildren, Sadé Gaines, Katherine Kelly and husband, Derrick, Margaret Rand and husband, Chris, Candise Garland and husband, Omarri, Chaezmon Gaines, LaNeetra Gaines, Rodnece Cameron, Rannece McDaniel and husband, William, Pero Johnson, Terry Knight, Micheal King, LaDarius Gaines, LaKeisha Gaines, an honorary granddaughter, Sheia Bender, 22 great-grandchildren and a number of other devoted relatives and friends.
