FERRIDAY — Services for Geraldine Lawrence, 63, of New Orleans, formerly of Ferriday, who died Friday, April 3, 2009, at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, will be at 1 p.m. today at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Miss Lawrence was born March 9, 1946, in Ferriday, the daughter of King David Lawrence and Elsie Johnson. She was a retired hotel housekeeper.
Survivors include her stepmother, Ollie Warren of Ferriday; her companion, Joseph Battle of New Orleans; four brothers, Johnny Lawrence of Natchez, Robert Johnson of Baton Rouge, Herman Johnson and Joe Johnson, both of New Orleans; five sisters, Daisy Kaiser of Vicksburg, Shirley Lawrence of New Orleans, Willie Mae Hawkins of San Bernardino, Calif., Mary Ann Bowser of Charlotte, N.C., and Bertha Stewart of Baton Rouge; one uncle, Monroe Johnson of Ferriday; two aunts, Ruby Johnson of Ferriday and Ella Mae Green of Pontiac, Mich.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
