ROXIE – Services for Walter Frederick “Doc” Ray, 72, of Roxie, who died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, will be at noon Saturday at Roxie First Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamburg under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Ray was born April 14, 1936, in Franklin County, the son of Lonnie and Gladys Lewis Ray.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include seven sisters, Christine Taylor and husband, Otis, and Billie Jean Ray, all of Roxie, Lucille Burse, Vergia Kennedy and husband, John, Lonnie Belle Robinson and husband, Henry, Velma Broussard, and Josie Pittman and husband, E.P., all of Gulfport; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
