FERRIDAY — Services for William Damon Hale, 55, of Waterproof, who died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Ferriday after a lengthy illness, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pentecostals of the Miss Lou with the Rev. Gary Howington and the Rev. Jeremy Howington officiating.
Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, in St. Joseph, under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Hale was born Jan. 4, 1954, in Newellton, La., the son of Luther and Gladys M. Hale. He was a dispatcher for Concordia Electric for seven years and owned a rod and reel repair business where he was known as “the reel man.” He was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Alonzo Hale; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth, Vivian and Linda Hale; and one nephew, Gregory A. Vice.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Hale; one daughter, Tammy A. Davidson of Vancleave; two sisters, Betty J. Vice and husband, Johnny, of Bossier City, La., and Brenda G. Hale and companion, Fred Allison; one brother, Atha S. Hale and wife, Brenda, of New Orleans; two grandchildren, Alex and Maria of Vancleave; and a number of nieces and nephews.
