VIDALIA — A Vidalia man is behind bars after seriously beating another man.
Reece Franklin Tyler, 23, 101 Dandridge St., was booked by the Vidalia Police on charges of second-degree battery.
Tyler was reportedly living with the victim at his Dandridge Street address, but the victim kicked Tyler out of the house, Police Chief Ronnie G. “Tapper” Hendricks said.
Wednesday night, Tyler allegedly went to the house and kicked in the plate glass front door, Hendricks said.
“It cut him up pretty bad,” Hendricks said.
After kicking in the door, Tyler allegedly entered the house and beat the victim to the point that the victim eventually sought medical attention for his injuries, Hendricks said.
“(Tyler) basically went there for revenge,” Hendricks said.
The incident happened at approximately midnight.
The suspect is being detained on a $20,000 bond.
