JACKSON — Tashundra Brass and Ta’Niya Wallace each had one hit and one run to help lead Mississippi Valley State past Alcorn State, 3-2.

Mississippi Valley continues in the winner’s bracket and will meet Southern University at noon today.

Alcorn falls to the loser’s bracket and will meet the winner of the Prairie View A&M/Grambling State game at 5 p.m. today.

JACKSON — Victoria Stewart had two runs and two hits to assist Southern in a 9-8 nail biter victory over Jackson State.

With the win Southern advances to take on Mississippi Valley at noon today.

Jackson State will face the winner of the Alabama State/Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the loser’s bracket at 5 p.m. today.
