ferriday — In honor of National Donate Life Month, the Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou are having a blood drive today.
Established in 2003, Donate Life Month takes place every day in April, as people across the county make a special effort to celebrate the generosity of those who saved lives through organ, tissue, marrow and blood donations.
National Donate Life Month is also an effort to get more people involved in life donations.
The Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou blood drive will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. today.
Hot dogs, chips and other refreshments will be served and donors will be eligible to win prizes, such as an ice chest, gift certificates and free lunch.
The church is located at 7280 U.S. 84 in Ferriday.
