Severe thunderstorm downs trees, scatters hail

A severe thunderstorm downed trees and scattered hail as many residents were driving to church Sunday morning. Pea-sized hail and high winds were accompanied with the storm that downed trees throughout the county.

Trees were reported down east of the downtown Natchez area, including St. Charles Avenue and Arlington Street.

Large trees fell on houses on Arlington Street and on North Concord Street.

A large tree fell on two cars on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive north of Natchez.

The Adams County Emergency Management Office is reporting 13 houses and one business have been struck by fallen trees.

Other reports include wind damage from the Ferriday.
