NATCHEZ — After days of repairs following Sunday’s storm, Natchez has power again.

Southwest Mississippi Electric Power Association Public Relations Coordinator Azalea Knight said Friday power was restored to all residents that can receive power.

Knight said the only meters not getting electricity were either damaged or were on private property and could not be accessed by work crews.

Knight said that left very few customers without power.

“We’re glad it’s done,” she said.

Knight said, for Southwest Power, the damage done by Sunday’s storm was worse than that done by Gustav.

Power to Entergy customers was restored earlier in the week.

Sunday’s storm left as many as 12,000 people in the surrounding counties with no power.
