NATCHEZ — Two Natchez men were arrested Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery and aggravated assault at a Franklin Street bar last week.

An employee at the Talk of the Town was transported to the University Medical Center in Jackson May 6, after being shot in the leg by a man who was attempting to rob the bar.

Marque Jones, 20, 35 Campbell Road, was suspected as the alleged shooter, who ran away after the gun was fired.

Nigel Simpson, 20, Apt. 303, 100 St. Catherine St., was also arrested in connection to the incident.

Both men have been charged with one count armed robbery and aggravated assault and are being detained at the Natchez city jail without bond.
