FERRIDAY — Services for Joycelyn Green Heard, 34, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Heritage Manor Health & Rehab in Ferriday, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rising Sun Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Mays officiating.
Burial will follow at Zion Hill Church Cemetery in Ferriday under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Heard was born Nov. 4, 1974, in Hauchuca, Ariz., the daughter of Cyrus Green Jr. and Joyce Atkins.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her father, Cyrus, of Ferriday; eight children, Damion, Malcolm and James Hollins Jr., all of Dallas, Everett Heard, Ronquesha and Ronisha Jones, Williana and Tiana Heard, all of Ferriday; two sisters, Laquan Kennedy of Lafayette, La., and Erica Skinner of Shreveport, La.; paternal grandmother, Viola Green; three uncles, Lionel and Frank Skinner, all of Ferriday, and Henry Skinner; three aunts, Mattie Metcalf and Dorothy Skinner, all of Washington, D.C., and Rose Blackston of El Paso, Texas.
