Minister Coleman Allmond

NATCHEZ — Services for Minister Coleman K. Allmond, 79, of Natchez, who died Friday, May 15, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be in Walnut Ridge, Ark. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home on Union Street.

Mr. Allmond was born Sep. 26, 1929, in Lyon, the son of Hugo Allmond and Pearl Hargis Allmond. He was the minister of 61 South Church of Christ for 16 years and had been a minister for 60 years for the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Sidney Allmond.

Survivors included his wife, Elsie J. Allmond, of Natchez; two sons, Michael Allmond, of Plymouth, Mich., Mark Allmond of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two daughters, Merilyn Allmond King, of Northville, Mich., Michelle Allmond Greybill, of Livonia, Mich.; three brothers, Tom Allmond and wife, Jean, of Aberdeen, Ira Allmond and wife, Barbara, of Warren, Mich., Steve Allmond and wife, Pat, of Collierville, Tenn., sister, Annette Allmond Mize and husband, Clyde, of Guntown; sister-in-law, Helen Allmond of Flint, Mich.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
