NATCHEZ — Services for Henry McMorris, 80, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in Natchez, will be at noon today at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Wright Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Mr. McMorris was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Wilkinson County, the son of Charley McMorris and Flora McDonalds. He was employed by Natchez Housing Authority and was retired. Mr. McMorris was a member of Greater New Bethel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Burniece McMorris; his parents; one sister, Edna Green; one brother, Clarence McMorris; and one nephew, Author M. Williams.
Survivors include one son, Authur Williams Jr. and wife, Shontae; one daughter, Michelle Denice Williams-Howard; four grandchildren, Javaunte, Jamila, Mya and Cherrice; four brothers, Waldell McMorris, Jack McMorris, David McMorris and LaSalle McMorris; three sisters, Addie Nash, Charlotte Burkhalcher and Ruby McMorris; and a number of nieces and nephews.
