WOODVILLE — Maxie Appalachian Taylor Sr., 62, of Woodville, died Monday, May 18, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Taylor was born Feb. 6, 1947, in Logan County, W. Va., the son of Ben Weart Taylor and Maxine Carlisle Taylor Phipps. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his father; and stepfather, Grady Phipps.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Taylor; two sons, Matthew Taylor and wife, Wendy, and Maxie Taylor Jr.; one daughter, Misty Taylor Haney and husband, Pete; three grandchildren, Dylan Haney, Bailey Haney and Jadyn Taylor; his mother, Maxine; one sister, Bennie Taylor Payne; one brother, James C. “Butch” Taylor; and a number of nieces and nephews.
