Natchez — Adams County Coroner James Lee said he unintentionally picked up qualification papers for county sheriff.

“I have no intention for running for sheriff,” Lee said.

He said what started out as an initial inquiry over who was running for county sheriff in the Nov. 3 special election led to him walking away with the papers all interested parties must fill out to be considered for the election.
