TWENTY YEARS AGO — Cathedral senior pitcher Craig Beesley, who went 9-0 with 88 strikeouts and an earned run average of 0.77, is named The Natchez Democrat’s All-Metro Baseball Player of the year.
TEN YEARS AGO — Vidalia sophomore shortstop Jarrett Hoffpauir, who had a .522 batting average, and junior pitcher Rod Donald, who went 8-3, are named to the LBCA Regional Class 2A All-State Team.
FIVE YEARS AGO — Adams County Christian School head baseball coach Gill Morris, who led the Rebels to two appearances in the Class AAA state championship, resigns after four seasons with a 69-41 record.
