NATCHEZ — Services for Geerome “Jack” Wells, 79, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, in Port Gibson, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. K.E. Stanton Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Wells was born in Adams County, the son of Leroy and Mary Lee Mayberry. He was employed as a logger and was retired. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wells; one son; two sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include one son, Geerome Wells Anderson; two daughters, Mary Harris and husband, Glyn, of Natchez and Felecia Bowser and husband, Jerome, of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister, Pauline Ford and husband, Johnnie; five brothers, Johnny Lee Mayberry, Rayford Mayberry and wife, Shirley, and Daniel Mayberry, all of Natchez, Oscar Mayberry and wife, Edna, of Atlanta and David Mayberry of Stockton, Calif.; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friend, Glenda Brown.
Pallbears will be family members and friends.
