FERRIDAY — Local children will be able to receive lunches at the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Doty Road Substation through the end of July.
The Doty Road site was declared eligible for the Louisiana Department of Education’s summer food service program after it passed state inspection this week, according to a statement from the CPSO.
The Food Bank of Central Louisiana in Alexandria will provide the meals, which will be served from 11 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday on a first come, first served basis.
The program will begin June 1 and end July 31.
“We’re very fortunate and pleased to be able to offer our facility for this program,” Concordia Parish Sheriff Randy Maxwell said. “We want to do all we can to work with children year around, and helping make sure they get a nutritious lunch during the summertime is really important.”
