LAKE ST. JOHN — Services for Willie Mae “Sister” Hines, 83, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church, in Lake St. John, with the Rev. Justin Conner officiating.
Burial will follow at Consuela Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Simms Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Miss Hines was born March 2, 1926, the daughter of Warren “Sonny” Hines and Sophronia Barber Hines. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Isiah Hines and the Rev. Johnny Hollins Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Beverly of Ferriday; two children she called her own, Henry Hines Jr. and wife, Toni, of Beaumont, Texas, and Doris H. Scott and husband, Ernest, of Ferriday; one brother, Henry Hines Sr. and wife, Carrie, of Saginaw, Mich.; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
